I am Going to see Babies tonight and I couldn't be more excited. I have been wanting to see it since I first saw the trailer last year.

I really want to be a midwife when I grow up. This movie is (fingers crossed) going to be the perfect inspiration for my desire to study Anthropology in College and then train to become a Nurse Practitioner/Midwife for my career.

I have always been a big fan of dissections. I will never forget the first worm I poked up in sixth grade; it had a big heart for it was old. Then there was the shark and the mink (whos head we stole). I like taking apart things and looking at their individual pieces in order to better understand the whole...perhaps that is why I adore Kathryn Parker's dissection of food. Lab pastries if you will. I saw the latest Spike Jonze film the other night and i quite enjoyed it. I thought that had the characters been people and not robots it would have been much more cheesy, however in this case it was cute. Though I had some critique I felt overall tone of the film was great and it just added to my desire to create my own films.

Above is a picture of Andrea (right) and I (left) as Mars/Spike Lee. I always loved his film, Do the Right Thing. The radio host in the beginning, one can almost feel the heat of a New York Summer and the man has such a wonderful radio voice. What am I getting at? Well Andrea (again me on the left her on the right) is my co-host on our new radio show, In City & In Forest which we broadcast from YouthRadio. On the show we plan to play music ranging from alternative, rock, hip-hop to the classics. Aside from the music the two of us will be keeping our listeners up to date on current events as well as discussing our passions, poetry, film, theatre, and more. Please tune in from 4-5 94.3 KPFB. I've been at YouthRadio for three or four years now and I truly love being on the radio. My role model is Ira Glass, host of This American Life, and I dream of interning and maybe even having a job at National Public Radio (NPR)

Recently I re-watched one of my favorite films, Lost in Translation. There is a certain semblance to this Coppola film. The feeling of entering a land completely new is both exciting & nerve racking.

I went to Japan not long ago and it

was like no other place I've ever been. A mix of jet lag with the new people, new land, and new

sensibilities was both wonderful and surreal.
