The Best of Simple

A Dream Deferred
by Langston Hughes

What happens to a dream deferred?

Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?

Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.

Or does it explode?

I love these Oil Paintings by Amy Bennett. I've always had a place in my heart for the miniature, the detail is incredible. For more (http://www.amybennett.com/home.html)

Little Tikes

I am Going to see Babies tonight and I couldn't be more excited. I have been wanting to see it since I first saw the trailer last year.

I really want to be a midwife when I grow up. This movie is (fingers crossed) going to be the perfect inspiration for my desire to study Anthropology in College and then train to become a Nurse Practitioner/Midwife for my career.

We will see...

The Canals of our City

I think it would be absolutely amazing to live in a boat. Whether traveling the seven seas or staying stationary at the edge of a canal; to live in a boat house would be marvelous. I hope that this aspiration comes true.

Canal in Bruges, hope I see it this summer

A canal in bloom

Boat House, I need this.

Ships Ahoy!

Portions for Foxes

Wes Anderson's Fantastic Mr. Fox was so wonderfully enjoyable. Looking at these images I am confronted with a wish to sit in Hal's room and play Playmobil.

Sanitary Napkin

My apologies for the grotesque image in one's mind after reading the title of this post. However, I figured Id put up some photos taken via a cheap disposable camera. One that can be found anywhere from Longs to Duane Reade.... After having been in New York I truly appreciate these photos which were all taken around the Bay Area (almost all).

Currently Loving: Blinking Pigs by Little Dragon.

Gambling Game

Ah, http://chatroulette.com/...

I feel like everyone knows this site by now. Complete with all its disturbing, awkward, hysterical moments I kind of hate and kind of like the site or rather "game." Though by far http://catroulette.tumblr.com/ is better.

Where in the World?

Takes me back to the good old days spent on the couch (or toilet) searching page by page eager to find the red and white stripped shirt of the infamous Waldo. Well... Canadian artist Melanie Coles came up with a genius idea; to create a wed version of Where's Waldo. The goal is to locate Waldo on google earth where his image is shown on a secret rooftop. http://whereonearthiswaldo.wordpress.com/
